Unanswered(?) Questions About Cadmus

Some questions I've had about Cadmus. Forgive me if I just wasn't paying attention well enough. :)

1. In S1 E17 - Manhunter, James Harper knows about Cadmus and talks about it like it's a secret government project. Is it really a government sponsored or funded (off the books of course) project, or is it not government related and James Harper was secretly a member of Cadmus?

2. In S2 E1 - The Adventures of Supergirl, why does Cadmus / Lillian Luthor want to kill Lena? Just because she's renaming Luthor Corp? I just don't see the motive, especially since Lena is her daughter and she'll need her later.

3. In S2 E7 - The Darkest Place, how does Cadmus know there is a secret project named Medusa inside the computer in the Fortress of Solitude? How do they know to even ask for it and then refer to it by name?

4. In S2 E12 - Luthors, why does Lillian need Lena's hand print to open Lex's vault? Shouldn't her own hand print have worked since she's also a Luthor?

Imra: "Or was that all a lie?"

2. I believe that it was Lex who wanted Lena dead because Lena wants to change Lex Corp to L-Corp a force for good! and hired Corbon to do his dirty job for him. But then Corbon got shot at the end of the episode and Lillian abducted him to turn him into Metallo. So I think it wan't Lillian's plan in the first place to kill Lena.

1. I think it was a government entity until the government probably felt that their ability to do it covertly had been damaged by Supergirl and the DEO....so they probably wanted to close shop, and a doctor there known as Dr. Luthor did not want to stop and simply took over where the government entity left off....and that included Jeremiah.

2. I think there is much more to Lena than we yet know, and I have a feeling that her mother knows quite a bit.

3. I would venture to say that anything that they know about krypton Superman and Supergirl etc. comes from Jeremiah.

4. The DNA needed was "Luthor DNA", Lillian is only a Luthor by marriage.

1. In that same episode, James told Kara that Cadmus is the reason that Clark won’t work with the government.
I think Cadmus was part of the government at that time, but then Lillian went rogue and was probably disavowed. That’s my theory, at least. They haven’t gone into detail about it, and I doubt they will.

I can answer number 4. The vault required Luthor DNA and Lillian is a Luthor by marriage. Since the same episode reveals that Lena is Lionel Luthor's daughter that means Lena has Luthor DNA. The fact that Lena was able (under duress) to open the vault means that part of the story Lillian told Lena must be true.
